(US, 2017) Directors: Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk. Cinematography: Jon Shenk. With: Al Gore.

It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years since the Academy Award® winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth brought the danger of human-made climate change into the mainstream global conversation. While some critics at the time pegged it as a movie with a limited ability to inspire change, that certainly hasn’t been true for Al Gore, who has largely spent the last decade urging action, meeting with innovative scientists, and documenting the devastating effects of climate change on our planet. The new film follows his journeys around the globe, both the ups (convincing India to invest in solar energy) and the downs (Donald Trump pulling out of the Paris Agreement). Gore’s ability to work through disappointments makes this film essential inspiration for students, educators, and really, anyone who calls this Earth their home. 100 min
