Scientists (or maybe it was science majors) have proven that watching a horror movie in the dark, at a cinema with a big screen and tech-heaven sound system, is 98% more frightening than seeing the same movie at home. Don’t believe us? Just try watching Jordan Peele’s (of comedy duo Key & Peele) new movie at Cinestudio…and not being scared out of your wits. Like all of the very best horror films, Get Out has more than a little reality in its premise: a young black New Yorker (Daniel Kaluuya) is dragged by his girlfriend (Allison Williams) to visit her white, wealthy liberal family who are nice and accepting as pie…until they aren’t.
“Only grows more darkly relevant, masterfully unfurling all of the real-life anxieties of Existing While Black while mining that situation for all its twisted absurdity.” – Aisha Harris, 104 min.
