(U.S., 2015) Directed by Justin Kelly. Screenplay by Kelly and Stacey Miller, based on the New York Times article by Benoit Denizet-Lewis.
Cast: James Franco, Zachary Quinto, Emma Roberts, Charlie Carver, , Daryl Hannah, Lesley Ann Warren.

CT OUTFilm’s Second Thursdays present a fascinating movie starring James Franco, Zachary Quinto and Emma Roberts, that never got the wide distribution it deserved! The mercurial James Franco was convinced by his buddy Gus Van Sant (Drugstore Cowboy, Goodwill Hunting) to make a movie about real life (former) gay activist, Michael Glatze. It begins in San Francisco, where Franco and his lover (Zachary Quinto) seem to have found their happy ending…until Michael has a breakdown and comes out the other side as a born again Christian who tells the world it is possible to break the ‘sinful’ habit of homosexuality. 102 min.
“Franco is excellent as Michael- we can see the fight going on inside his head behind his veneer of confidence.” – Michael Chitwood, Collider.
