(US, 2015) Written and directed by Pete Docter. With the voices of: Kaitlyn Dias, Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Phylls Smith, Bill Hader.

If you’ve been wondering what happened to Pixar in the lull after Wall-E, Up and Toy Story 3, you’re finally in luck! The writer/director of Up (Pete Docter) returns with a funny and brilliant animated look inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl named Riley. As she deals with the upheaval of a move from Minnesota to the Bay area, Riley’s conflicting emotions take physical form: Joy is a yellow pixie, Sadness a blue blob, Fear, a purple bundle of nerves, Digust, a sarcastic green guru, and Anger, a sputtering red creature voiced by Lewis Black. 102 min.

“It’s hard to believe that anyone will make a film more ambitious and more fully realized this year than Inside Out. Let the talk of a best picture Oscar win begin now!” Tom Long, Detroit News.
