(2017, US) Written and directed by Peter Landesman. Cast: Liam Neeson, Diane Lane, Marton Csokas, Ike Barinholtz, Tony Goldwyn, Bruce Greenwood, Michael C. Hall.

After all the wild speculation, it was revealed in 2005 that Assistant FBI Director Mark Felt was Deep Throat, the secret informant who fed news of the Watergate scandal to the Washington Post. But strangely enough, the public still knows little about the “man who took down Richard Nixon.” Thanks to writer/director Peter Landesman, we can now see the tumultuous last days of a corrupt administration as they actually unfolded. And thanks to Liam Neeson, the Irish actor whose 90-plus films include Michael Collins, The Dark Knight and Schindler’s List, we have an idea of what lay behind the decision of a fiercely loyal FBI agent to leak such damaging facts to the press – and the world. 103 min.
“With an extra intensity…it suggests that no matter how strenuous is the lying, and how powerful the liars, one person in possession of the truth can bring down a corrupt administration.” Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle.
