(Japan, 2001) Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. With the voices of: Daveigh
Chase, Suzanne Pleshette, Jason Marsden, David Ogden Stiers.

Thanks to Trinity’s Asian American Student Association, Hayao Miyazaki and the
Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away can once again play on Cinestudio’s giant screen!
While fans may disagree over their favorite anime, no one can deny that the 90%
hand-drawn Spirited Away is a masterpiece. The wildly imaginative tale begins as
Chihiro, a 10-year-old girl, is separated from her parents at an amusement park.
Trapped in a magical bathhouse, Chihiro teams up with a mysterious boy (Haku) to
outsmart a funny, outrageous, and scary collection of creatures (including a Stink
spirit, a greedy grandma witch, and the melancholy No-Face). Winner, Oscar® for
Best Animated Feature. “If, as artists, we say that life is worth living and the world
is worth living in – then something good might come of it. Maybe that’s what these
films are doing. They are my way of blessing the child.” – Hayao Miyazaki. 125 min
