(U.S., 2015) Director: Robert Zemeckis. Screenplay by Philippe Petit, Robert Zemeckis and Christopher Browne.
Cast: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Charlotte Le Bon, Ben Kingsley.

New Yorkers didn’t warm up to the World Trade Center until 1974, when French aerialist Philippe Petit found their magic in an incredible feat of performance art: stretching a steel cable between the twin towers, and walking across. With the input of Petit, director Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Cast Away), unlocks his magic box of visual effects – even returning, for a time, the disappeared towers to the New York skyline. The movie begins in Paris, where Petit meets the love of his life, a fellow busker named Annie (played by Charlotte Le Bon). Obsessed by scaling the space between the towers, Petit risks everything to pursue his dream. 123 min.

“The journey it offers viewers doesn’t just span 140 feet, but also an ethereal, now-vanished, world.” Ann Hornaday, Washington Post.
